Sugaring is the ancient art of gentle, safe hair removal. Clients will truly love the gentler service and since no one is allergic to sugar it is safe to offer to all clients. It is warmed to just above skin temperature so burns are never a danger.

You will need about 1/4 inch of hair in order to wax.

Do not use chemical exfoliates such as Retin-A or other retinoids for about 3 weeks prior to waxing services. Retinoids thin the surface of the skin and leave it susceptible to lifting when waxed. Accutane users must wait at least 6 months after finishing the prescription to have services performed. Waxing can remove skin if done so, before this period. It is safe to wax during pregnancy and menstruation, however, be prepared to feel increased sensitivity and irritation.

For those with low pain tolerance or with think/dense hair, a pain reliever such as Advil or Tylenol (use as directed) may be taken 30 minutes prior to waxing to help reduce sensitivities.

For the best results, waxing in a row (every 2-4 weeks) for a couple of visits after your first appointment is a good idea. This will allow all the hair in different growth cycles to be removed from the root. After this period, you will be able to go longer in between appointments (every 4-6 weeks).
